FEB 2026 INLET FISHING REPORTS

Sebastian Inlet Fishing Report (Feb 23, 2026) — Muddy South Side, North Jetty Bite Window

Muddy water and shifting winds slowed fishing again at Sebastian Inlet, and this week’s report is another short one. Most of the action happened on the North Jetty, while the south side struggled after SSE winds late in the week turned the water into a muddy mess.

Midweek conditions briefly improved when water temperatures climbed to about 70 degrees from Wednesday through Friday. That short warm-up sparked a quick bite before the weather shifted again and cooled things back down.

North Jetty

The North Jetty produced nearly all the action last week.
During the early morning incoming tide just after sunrise, anglers were catching a mix of:

Black drum
Redfish
A few slot and oversized snook

The best bait during this window was live shrimp fished at the jetty tip. Water clarity was noticeably better on the north side compared to the south jetty, which helped the bite.
Other species caught around the jetty included:

Sheepshead around the pilings and rock pile
A few decent whiting on the beach side

Sand fleas, shrimp, and fiddler crabs were the most productive baits for sheepshead.
During the outgoing tide, the action shifted to more aggressive fish:

Bluefish
Jack crevalle

Those fish were hitting just about anything thrown at them — live bait, cut bait, spoons, and jigs.

South Jetty

The South Jetty slowed down considerably once the SSE winds arrived late in the week. Those winds pushed muddy water into the area and shut down most of the fishing.
Very little action was reported here compared to the north side.

Surf – North & South

Surf fishing around the inlet was also slow due to the dirty water conditions.
Most of the catches reported from both beaches were:

Catfish
Stingrays
Small sharks

Until the water clears up again, surf fishing will likely remain hit-or-miss.

Outlook

Conditions may stay rough for a few more days.

Water temperature has dropped back down to about 68 degrees
Winds are shifting more westerly
Seas have kicked back up again

Fishing should improve once the inlet cleans up and water temperatures stabilize again.

Sebastian Inlet Fishing Report (Feb 16, 2026) — Clean Water, 67°… Still a Slow Winter Grind

Clean water and slightly warmer temps (around 67°) still didn’t flip the switch at the inlet this week, so this report is going to be short and straight to the point. Conditions looked decent overall, but the fishing stayed slow, and some seaweed slid back in over the weekend.

Water temperature bumped up a little to about 67 degrees as of this writing (up from the 59–62 range we were seeing). That’s a step in the right direction, but winter patterns are still hanging around, and the bite hasn’t really fired yet.

North Jetty

Lots and lots of small bluefish and jacks were being caught on just about everything — live baits, cut baits, silver spoons, and jigs. Either tide worked, but the outgoing tide at the tip was a little better.

There were also some Spanish mackerel caught, but most of them were pretty small and didn’t make the 12-inch minimum to keep. Spoons and jigs were the ticket for those.
Through last week and the weekend I did see a few black drum and some sheepshead being caught — not a lot, but enough to keep folks interested. Most of those were at the tip, mainly on the outgoing, with a couple caught on the incoming too.
On the beachside, I did see some decent whiting being caught, and a few pesky Atlantic sharp-nosed sharks. Live sand fleas and shrimp got those bites.

No snook and no redfish were caught that I saw or even heard about. Water’s still a bit too cool for them to really get comfortable.

South Jetty

Same story over here — lots of bluefish and jacks, but not much else. I did hear about some black drum, sheepshead, and a few nice pompano being caught at the tip earlier in the week. Drum were caught on shrimp, and the pompano/sheepshead were caught on live sand fleas and goofy jigs.
Along the rocks on the incoming tide there were reports of some small undersized snook caught on live pilchards and shrimp, but nothing big enough to keep.
No flounder.

T-Dock Area

Slow back here as well. When the dock is open, about the only action I saw and heard about were bluefish, jacks, and a few Spanish mackerel on small spoons and jigs.
I did see some nice whiting caught over the weekend on cut shrimp on both tides, but not much else worth reporting.

Surf – North & South

There weren’t many folks out fishing the surf from what I saw, but either side has produced some whiting mixed with catfish, stingrays, and some small sharks. The south side earlier in the week produced some decent pompano on live sand fleas.

Sebastian Inlet Fishing Report — Feb 9, 2026 (Cold, Dirty Water & Tough Bite)

Very cold water, rough surf, and dirty conditions kept things extremely slow at the inlet this week, so this report is going to be short and straight to the point. Not much has changed from last week other than the water getting even rougher and dirtier with the persistent NNW winds.

Water temperature was around 59 degrees as of this writing, which is way too cold for the comfort level of our seasonal fish. Ideally, we need to see 65 degrees or warmer before things really start to turn on.

North Jetty

About the only action I saw anywhere at the inlet was right here. A few black drum and sheepshead were caught on shrimp and clams, along with some small bluefish on silver spoons, Gotcha lures, and just about any bait fished.

That was pretty much it. No steady bite, just a fish here and there.

South Jetty

Between the cold water, rough seas, and dirty conditions, there really wasn’t anything to report on this side. Very few anglers were out and no consistent bite happening.

T-Dock Area

Not much going on back here either. The cold water and wind kept things quiet, and there wasn’t much reason to spend time in this area.

Surf – North & South

The surf was blown out and dirty on both sides this week. About the only thing being caught were catfish and stingrays. Definitely not worth the effort right now.
This is probably one of the worst reports I’ve had to write, but like I always tell you all — I call it like I see it. The good news is the weather is supposed to get back to more normal conditions this week. What we really need are some easterly or south-easterly winds to push some warmer water in and get things sparked back up.

Sebastian Inlet Fishing Report – Feb 2, 2026 (Brutal Cold, Short Report)

Brutal cold, high winds, and rough water kept most folks off the rocks this week — so this one is short and to the point. I was down last Friday before the chill-down and the only steady action I saw was on the North Jetty. Everywhere else was quiet or empty.

North Jetty

About the only thing I saw caught were some small bluefish on spoons, jigs, and cut bait, plus a couple of BIG black drum on clams — and one drum was caught on a flair jig.

Live clam rule reminder: If you are using live clams for bait, you are NOT allowed to bring them out on the jetty in the shells. The rules state you must shuck them at the cleaning station and put the meat in a container. This keeps our jetty clean of shells and stink, and it prevents folks from tripping on shells stuck in the grates. Thank you!

Other fish I saw caught were just a few sheepshead in and around the pilings on fiddler crabs and sand fleas. Along the wall between the bait shop and bridge, I did see a couple small snook and redfish caught on live shrimp, and a couple sheepshead. That was all the action I saw on Friday.

South Jetty

Between the wind, cold, and rough water, there really wasn’t anything to report over here this week — very few anglers and no steady bite happening.

T-Dock Area

Not much going on back here either. With the weather the way it was, it was quiet and there wasn’t a reason to hang around.

Surf – North & South

With the cold, wind, and rough water, the surf wasn’t worth messing with this week. Conditions pretty much shut things down on both sides.

This week is going to start out pretty chilly, but warm back up by Wednesday-Thursday. If the winds don’t mess the water up, we may have some good fishing. The only other thing holding it back is the very cold water — right now showing 58–60 degrees. That’s too cold for our fishies’ comfort. So we shall see what happens. Have a great week everyone!
